Equine Assisted Counselling
Our new upcoming program that we are offering is inspired by the Equine Assisted Growth And Equine Assisted Learning. We are just starting to get this program running, and we are very excited.
While our therapy riding is on horse-back EAGALA sessions are all on the ground. They are private sessions with one student, one horse, a horse specialist and a mental health professional, the student's growth is our main priority.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) incorporates horses to promote and aid emotional learning and growth. It is a collaborative effort between a licensed therapist and a horse professional working with the clients and horses to address treatment goals. EAP is a powerful and effective therapeutic approach that has incredible impact on individuals, youth, families, and groups.
EAP addresses a variety of mental health and human development needs including, but not limited to; behavioral issues, attention deficit disorders, PTSD, substance abuse, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, relationship problems and communication needs.
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is similar to EAP but here the focus is on educational goals. EAL still involves the team of a mental health professional and a horse professional working together with the clients and horses. The focus is on education and learning specific skills such as improved product sales for a company, leadership skills for a school group, or resiliency training for our military warriors.
